Kalaboot

--  PERMACULTURE --

WELCOME TO KALABOOT

Kalaboot is a permaculture field of experimentation in which the ecological footprint of a person is measured.

Volunteers, guests and visitors can discover and study alternative living designs.
We live in the nature park Dübener Heide and offer various possibilities of inner contemplation and experience.

We run an apiary, an aquaponics facility, give lectures and exercises on permaculture in general and on pilgrimages, terra preta, apiary, photoshootings of all kinds, natural modeling with plaster or alternative building in particular.

We accompany life-counseling through Vision Quest, sweat lodges and preparation for pilgrimages.

Within the framework of moderated workshops, our guests have the opportunity to move back as a group to allow group processes.

The nature allows hiking, swimming, fishing, mushroom picking, wildlife observation of beavers, deer, wolf and more.
As an overnight stay, our guests and visitors are offered weekend cabins of various standards.

Individual travelers stay from 4 days to 4 weeks.

EXPLORE THE AREA

HelpX is an online listing of host organic farms, non-organic farms, farmstays, homestays, ranches, lodges, B&Bs, backpackers hostels and even sailing boats who invite volunteer helpers to stay with them short-term in exchange for food and accommodation.

HelpX is provided primarily as a cultural exchange for working holiday makers who would like the opportunity during their travels abroad, to stay with local people and gain practical experience. In the typical arrangement, the helper works an average of 4 hours per day and receives free accommodation and meals for their efforts.

Scattered heath villages line the way into the freshness at the gates of the cities. Here it lives well in the middle of a rich cultural landscape. Nature on your doorstep, not always conflict-free when it comes to wildlife like beaver or wolf. But nature conservation and nature park development for people are not mutually exclusive. Municipalities, companies and associations invest in rural development, combining the protection and use of nature and landscape. The balance between intact nature, economic well-being and good quality of life is striven for in the Düben Heath. The European Union supports the people and communities living here in the area of regional development.
